Impressive event with great user range and high level depth of knowledge of presenters as well as exhibitors.
    Felix Bauz, Volkswagen AG

The ESI Forum in Germany 2017 was a well organized conference which presented many relevant specialist topics and allowed to establish contact to a lot of colleagues from within and outside my area of expertise.
    Chistian Hunyar, Toho Tenax

The event gave a pretty good picture where ESI stands and where it wants to go.
    Thomas Burger, EADS

Interesting range of applications, with new input for own work
    Bernd Bossmann, HUF

User exchange is as important as the usage of the software.

Flashback to our ESI Forums in 2017

ESI held multiple international forums between September and November 2017 in North America, Germany, Japan and India. These events provided opportunities to learn more about the latest innovations in ESI’s software solutions, to witness exceptional examples of how our customers benefit from Smart Virtual Prototyping, and to network with fellow users, worldwide industry experts, academics, and partners.

The ESI Forum in North America kicked off the international meeting season in Birmingham, Michigan, USA. From September 26 to 27, more than 200 clients from a diverse range of industries, from ground transportation to aerospace and defense, gathered to exchange ideas on new trends in simulation and manufacturing and how to address the challenge of delivering more innovative and smarter products at a lower cost, faster, and with increased realiability.

From November 7 to 9 in Weimar, Germany, ESI welcomed customers from Germany and abroad. During 3 days, attendees heard about the benefits of virtually manufacturing, assembling and testing across multiple domains of required performance, physically realistic components and complete virtual products – essentially building and honing a Virtual Prototype all the way to virtual pre-certification. Following the acquisition of ITI last year, the ESI Forum 2017 in Germany for the first time welcomed the creators and users of the multi-physics system simulation software SimulationX, who previously met in the event known as the ITI Symposium. Speakers included world renowned scientists, ESI customers, and ESI Product Managers.

    Keynotes

Winner of the "Best Presentation Award" Dr. Manuel Bös, Liebherr-Werk Bischofshofen GmbH: Optimizing the oscillation concept of a wheel loader using holistic full-vehicle simulation

ESI Forum in Japan returned this fall for its 27th edition. Held at the Hilton Hotel in Tokyo, the forum provided participants with the opportunity to meet simulation experts and discover how ESI is undergoing its own transformation to amplify our Smart Virtual Prototyping solutions, showing how committed we are to supporting and accelerating the digital transformation at the heart of the Smart Factory. Offered with simultaneous interpretation in English, the sessions  discussed several challenging industry topics in Virtual Performance, from crash & safety and seats to NVH and Dynamics, and in Virtual Manufacturing, including composites, sheet metal forming and welding and assembly. A special session for the community in Japan who use Scilab, the open source software for numerical computational sustained by the company Scilab Enterprises acquired by ESI earlier this year completed the event.

ESI India hosted ESI User Group Forum 2017 in Pune on 22nd Nov 2017. This forum brought ESI users from an array of the industries together. The theme for this year’s forum was “Virtualization - Key Driver for Industry of Future” with presentations of exciting new developments and trends.

This year’s forum included sessions of the Automotive, Aerospace, Energy and Heavy Machinery Industries and on how new technologies will support the goal of Indian industries to get ready for the Industry of the Future. ESI’s Forum offered sessions for System Modeling tools, such as SimulationX and Scilab. Also, it included breakout sessions by ESI Experts on Casting, Sheet Metal, Welding, Virtual Performance, Vibro-Acoustics, Virtual Reality and CFD.
